Use, Reused, Recycle
Water
is a necessary commodity used daily when gardening that will increase charges
to your water rates. The use of barrels or large buckets (in the Caribbean we
call them pigtail buckets) is an inexpensive way to collect rain water to use
in the garden to conserve water and cut down on the water bill. I also view it
as a bonus using rain water which is natural to use in the garden. You can
purchase these at any hardware store or as an inexpensive approach, collect
them from friends and family who may have done some renovations and recycle
them as they may have been used as paint buckets or drywall mud.
Rebar/ PVC pipes
Rebar
(reinforcement bar) or PVC pipe are a wonderful way to reuse leftover materials
from projects to use in the garden. They can be used
to make just about anything such as stakes, fences, gates, and support for the
plants, greenhouse structures- the possibilities are endless. These can also be
purchased at any hardware store at reasonable prices.
